Marantz Model 50 is a well-made and well-sounding analog stereo amplifier that offers 2 channels and has an output power of 2 x 70 watts into 8 ohms, class A/B.
The amplifier features Marantz HDAM SA-3 circuitry, a powerful power supply, dedicated Phono input, discreet headphone amplifier and tone controls on the front. The Model 50 has six analog inputs, including a high-quality MM Phono input.

The build quality is high with carefully selected components.
The amplifier is completely analog, which eliminates the influence of digital circuits.
A dedicated turntable input uses Marantz Musical Phono EQ stage with double-stage gain and HDAM technology to improve signal purity.
The volume control is electronic and has high precision over a large volume spectrum.
The amplifier has dual speaker outputs (A + B) and also offers the option of using it as an output stage for home cinema projects.

The Model 50 also includes a discrete headphone amplifier with HDAM SA-2 circuitry for efficient headphone driving with warm, clear and airy sound. It uses Marantz Current Feedback Amplification and Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Modules (HDAM) to meet the demands of high-resolution music with wide bandwidth and fast playback. The HDAM circuits, which are in-house designed components, are said to outperform traditional op-amps in audio performance and signal handling.
