Preamplifier

In a modern high-end DAC, the preamplifier plays a major role in sound quality and character. The preamplifier in the AMG DAC features:

• Voltage amplification in the output stage using only discrete components.
• Current amplification in the output stage with a fast amplifier built entirely from discrete components.
• A "current transmitter" without negative feedback.

The sound is natural and relaxed, without the slightest hint of a digital character. You hear a very open sense of space during a live performance, with a focused soundstage. Guitar and piano naturally fill the listening room, allowing you to relax and immerse yourself in the music, while stiff-sounding strings become natural and smooth.

The heart

At the heart of the system, the AMG DAC supports a wide range of inputs and formats. Two 32-bit ESS9038Q2M DA converters from ESS Technology decode the left and right channels separately, improving channel separation and reducing overall noise. Professional MELF film resistors from Vishay contribute to excellent sound quality.

Bluetooth and WiFi receiver

NuPrime has created a USB-A port that transmits S/PDIF data and 5 V power, allowing an external wireless receiver to be connected with a single standard USB cable.

NuPrime's Omnia WR-1, BTR-HD, Stream Mini and Stream Mini DAC wireless receivers have a micro-USB port that follows this standard. So a regular USB-A to micro-USB cable is all that's needed to power the receiver and transmit audio wirelessly in S/PDIF format.
