NuPrime Evolution STA-SE is a reference-class stereo power amplifier delivering 2 x 400 W into both 8 and 4 ohms. A dual-mono design with independent power paths for each channel provides minimal crosstalk and maximum focus in the soundstage.
At its core is NuPrime’s ODC technology (Only Distortion Cancellation), a Class D design that extracts the error signal directly from the MOSFET circuits and output filter instead of using a global feedback loop. The result is distortion of 0.002% THD+N and completely neutral, transparent reproduction. The 650 kHz switching frequency provides resolution approaching that of the finest analog designs.
The power supply is based on GaN semiconductors (gallium nitride) with active noise reduction, which counteracts interference on the mains voltage in real time—the same principle used in noise-cancelling headphones. The power section handles 40 A of current with 52,000 µF filter capacitors, while the RCA inputs are Furutech FP900 and the speaker terminals are high-conductivity types. The result is an amplifier with Class A-like warmth in the midrange and the power of a transistor amplifier, without the heat or weight of either.
