Supra Sword Excalibur Combicon (Pair)

Supra has for 2 years tried to develop the ultimate speaker cable, the result was Sword Excalibur .

The aim has been not to skimp on anything, everything should be the best but still affordable and of course made in Sweden. Bifilar wound litz conductors, PE insulation, twisted and shielded for minimal interference, CNC-milled cable splitter with earth connection, XL-Annorum earth conductor, solid copper contacts with Rhodium plating.

The crimp connectors are specially designed for Excalibur , the conductor is screwed into the crimp body (like an F connector) for maximum bending strength. The stripped Litz wires are then mechanically crimped for a perfect and airtight cable connection. The contact body is fitted with an M6 connection, which enables optional connection with rhondium-plated spades or banana pins. Earth connection with XL-annurum conductor is standard 30cm and also equipped with specially adapted and rhodium-plated Combicon contacts.

Supra has previously unabashedly stated that the standard Sword is one of the best cables available, regardless of price or manufacturer. Sword Excalibur takes a few more steps towards near-total transparency, still the only word that correctly describes this patented "high-end" speaker cable.

The secret is the construction with bifilar wound Litz conductors. The structure of the cable consists of 24 separately insulated cords per conductor (two per cable), where 12 are spirally wound clockwise and the remaining 12 anticlockwise. Through this ingenious orientation, the two pairs of conductors work in what is called "magnetic zero", i.e. the counter-wound cords extinguish each other's own inductance (magnetic effect).

An additional advantage is that the skin effect is minimized, i.e. the tendency of the current (signal) to want to go closer to the surface of the cords at high frequencies and, not least, the separate placement of each conductor completely stops the spontaneous current jumps between the cords in the conductors which produce time-shifting effects. For you as a customer, this means a cable that doesn't dampen the music fast transients, a cymbal sounds like a cymbal should, a grand piano's touch as well and the superior timing contributes to a sound stage in three dimensions which in a properly set up HiFi system is incredibly true to the original on the disc being played.

Something that is normal with quality recorded music that is not compressed in the same way as pop/hit music made for radio/streaming is that each instrument and voice phrases (emphasizes) different parts of the music. It is barely audible in simple equipment connected with included cables of inferior class. But already with the same equipment, an audible step forward is made in terms of sound with a higher class on the cabling. If you have expensive HiFi equipment, we would like to say that the Sword should be considered with the same relevance to your installation's performance as any of its other components. Don't replace your speakers, for example, until you've tried a demo of Supra Sword Excalibur from your local dealer. Sword is only sold terminated, why? Due to the special construction, the contact is critical (in other words, nothing you do yourself!). The termination is made with strong contact pressing, oxygen tight so the materials are joined to what is most reminiscent of welding. The cable is delivered in a black wooden box. Termination is both fork and track Supra Rhodium plated CombiCon connector. Both track and fork are included so you are not limited in future electronics or speaker upgrades.
