Supra has developed an ultimate USB cable over a couple of years; the result was USB Excalibur. Their goal was simple: to manufacture the world's best USB cable without compromises or shortcuts.
Excalibur is a premium high-speed cable with enhanced data and power transmission, a complement to the existing USB series. Both the data pair and the power pair are optimized for their purpose, transmitting data and power respectively. The twisted data pair is made of PE-insulated silver-plated oxygen-free copper. The silver layer is very thick, 3.8% of the total area, for the best conductivity and high speed factor. Silver plating makes the conductor good for high frequencies and high-speed data transmission. The construction of the power conductors is completely different compared to the data pair.
To minimize power loss and maximize conductor area, four tin-plated conductors are used in a star quad configuration. Star quad twisting together with the separate shields effectively reduces all RFI.
You may recognize the design of the connectors; they follow the same design concept as Supra's popular detachable HDMI connectors. The connectors are fully shielded in aluminum. The connectors are detachable to allow the cable to be pulled through 16 millimeter VP conduit, only a small Phillips screwdriver is needed. No advanced assembly/soldering is required when installing in pipes, which could compromise Supra performance.
