XTZ SUB 8.17 is a small but powerful active subwoofer delivering astonishingly deep and precise bass, making it a "bass giant" in its compact format. As the little brother to SUB 10.17 and SUB 12.17, SUB 8.17 combines advanced technology from XTZ's acclaimed Cinema series with innovative solutions to create a fast, alert, and natural bass reproduction. With a newly developed Class-D amplifier delivering 200 W RMS and up to 350 W peak power, SUB 8.17 achieves an impressive lower cutoff frequency of 29 Hz (-3 dB), making it the perfect choice for both home theater and music listening.

SUB 8.17 is equipped with an 8-inch high-speed driver, developed from the Cinema series, combining extremely low weight with high stiffness. This provides outstanding impulse response and compliance, resulting in controlled and dynamic bass. 

The advanced Class-D amplifier delivers 200 W RMS and 350 W peak power, with a DSP processor that provides unparalleled control over the driver. The amplifier's near-ideal clipping characteristic ensures maximum "headroom" and minimal use of protection circuits, resulting in a clean and powerful bass experience.

XTZ Room Tuning – Customize the sound according to the room

SUB 8.17 offers extensive possibilities to fine-tune the bass to suit different rooms and preferences:

Three EQ modes:

• EQ REF: Maximizes the depth of the bass for a full-bodied reproduction.
  
• EQ1: Cuts the lowest frequencies for controlled bass in smaller rooms with high "room gain."
  
• EQ2: Boosts the upper bass frequencies for a "punchy" and fast bass.

Bass reflex or sealed design: With the included foam plugs, you can adjust the bass reflex ports to switch between bass reflex and sealed enclosure, or combine ports for different frequency characteristics:

• Open ports: Fast and powerful bass with a focus on higher frequencies.
  
• One open port: Balanced bass focusing on mid or lower frequencies.
  
• Closed ports: Dry and precise bass with early roll-off for maximum accuracy.

Phase, crossover frequency, and volume: Further fine-tune with variable phase (0–180°), crossover frequency (40–160 Hz), and volume control.

Robust cabinet

The SUB 8.17 cabinet is built from 25 mm MDF with extensive internal bracing for maximum stability. This minimizes resonances and provides the driver with an ideal environment to deliver controlled and dynamic bass. The compact size is optimized for the driver's parameters, resulting in extremely responsive and precise bass reproduction.

Sleek design

SUB 8.17 blends into any home with its elegant appearance and 2 color options: matte black and matte white. The multi-layer lacquer is carefully sanded and polished, and the rounded edges give a sophisticated and modern impression. The acoustically transparent front grille (black or white depending on model) protects the driver without affecting sound quality.

Flexible connections

The gold-plated rear terminal offers both RCA and high-level inputs, making the SUB 8.17 compatible with amplifiers without low-level output. This makes it versatile for different systems and applications.
